About

Universitas Terbuka (UT), also known as Indonesia Open University, is a public university inaugurated on September 4, 1984, that teaches through open and distance learning. It is headquartered in Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang, Banten, and serves students through regional offices across Indonesia and abroad. Faculties cover education and teacher training, economics and business, law and social sciences, and science and technology.

Entrepreneurship Programs

In July 2025 UT launched a bachelor's (S1) program in Entrepreneurship (Kewirausahaan), in which students complete a business project instead of a thesis.

Students and faculty from Universitas Terbuka can also build venture skills with SEA Bridge through the ASEAN1967 Fellowship and the open Global Venture Playbook reading list.

Engagement with SEA Bridge

Universitas Terbuka is part of the Gen SEA University Network, the universities SEA Bridge works with and whose students join our programs.

Students from Universitas Terbuka have been selected for the ASEAN1967 Fellowship, SEA Bridge’s program of real venture work across ASEAN.

For students: apply to the ASEAN1967 Fellowship to work on real projects with companies expanding across Southeast Asia.

For faculty and university partners: contact SEA Bridge to explore joint courses, student projects and research collaboration.
